Green Buddha @ Bayon in Angkor Wat, Cambodia | 2006

The image below is a piece from a collection of my travel photography shot in Southeast Asia circa 2006. This particular Buddha photo was shot in  Siem Reap, Bayon, Angkor Wat, Cambodia. I manipulated the image very slightly using Photoshop. Didn’t have to do much on this one as it came out the camera pretty good on its own. It was on my old Nikon D50 with the stock 18-55mm lens. This country is unbelievably beautiful with a rich culture and history. However, it is also unbelievably impoverished, war torn and an incredibly sad experience to visit. Not sure if I’d want to go back, but I definitely would recommend it to EVERYONE!!! It’s an amazing place and a very humbling opportunity. We gave a waiter in a countryside rest top a $4 USD tip for breakfast and he started crying and hugged all 5 of us. More pictures and stories coming soon.
